Global Finance has announced its tenth annual World’s Best Private Banks Awards for 2025. A full report on the selections will appear in the December print and digital editions of Global Finance as well as online at GFMag.com.

Global Finance’s Private Bank Awards honors banks that best serve the specialized needs of high-net-worth individuals as they seek to enhance, preserve and pass on their wealth. The winners are not always the biggest institutions, but rather the best—those with qualities that individuals rate highly when choosing a provider.

Global Finance’s editorial board selected the winners for the Private Bank Awards with input from executives and industry insiders. The editors also use information from entries submitted by banks, in addition to independent research, to evaluate a series of objective and subjective factors. This year’s ratings were based on performance during the period covering July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024.

“Excellence in private banking goes beyond financial acumen; it combines a nuanced understanding of clients’ unique aspirations with insightful economic knowledge,” said Joseph Giarraputo, founder and editorial director of Global Finance. “This year’s awards celebrate institutions that excel not only by navigating financial complexities but also by innovatively meeting the evolving expectations of today’s high-net-worth clients.”

Winning organizations will be honored at Global Finance’s annual World’s Best Private Bank Awards Ceremony at the Harvard Club of New York City in the historic Biddle Room on March 19, 2025.

The overall Global Sub-category honorees and the Best Regional Islamic Digital Banks have also been chosen.

Honorees were revealed live today, October 1st, at Global Finance’s 2024 World’s Best Digital Bank Awards Ceremony at London’s landmark Banking Hall.

Bank of Georgia has been named the overall World’s Best Digital Bank.

A full report will appear in the December 2024 print and digital editions of Global Finance as well as online at GFMag.com. Round 1 winners previously appeared in the September 2024 issue, covering honorees in individual countries and territories. Coverage of the Round 1 winners can be found here:

“The rapid advancements in fintech, the rise of digital currencies, and the increasing importance of cybersecurity are continually redefining the benchmarks for exceptional digital banking services,” said Joseph Giarraputo, founder and editorial director of Global Finance. “Global Finance’s Best Digital Bank Awards celebrate the financial institutions that are leading the way with innovative digital solutions and setting new standards in the industry.”

Global Finance has announced its selections for the fourth annual SME Bank Awards for 2025. Honorees have been chosen globally and across the following regions: Africa, Asia-Pacific, the Caribbean, Central America, Central & Eastern Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, North America and Western Europe. Winners have also been named in 72 countries, territories and districts and six US regions. A full report on Global Finance’s SME Bank Awards will be published in the November 2024 print and digital editions and online at GFMag.com.

Global Finance founder and editorial director Joseph Giarraputo emphasized the critical role of small and medium enterprises in the global economy: “Across every region, SMEs are the backbone of economic and jobs growth. Global Finance is committed to spotlighting financial institutions that excel in supporting this crucial sector, both locally and globally, empowering SME managers to reach new heights of financial success.”

The editors of Global Finance selected the winners for the 2025 Best SME Bank Awards based on entries submitted by banks and independent research, with input from industry insiders, executives, and technology experts. Global Finance used a proprietary algorithm with criteria—such as knowledge of SME markets and needs, breadth of products and services, market standing, and innovation—weighted for relative importance. Entries were not required for consideration. This year’s ratings are based on performance from April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024. The winners are those banks that best meet the specialized needs of SMEs in their markets.

Global Finance’s awards and recognition programs are the trusted standard of excellence for banks and their corporate partners. They are backed by a 37-year history of editorial accuracy and integrity. Global Finance’s corporate and financial audience relies on these awards because they are credible, reliable and real.

Global Finance magazine has released the names of Central Bank Governors who earned the highest grades, “A+”, “A” or “A-”, in the Central Banker Report Cards 2024. The full Central Banker Report Cards 2024 grade list will appear in Global Finance’s October print and digital editions as well as online at GFMag.com.

The Central Banker Report Cards, published annually by Global Finance since 1994, grade the central bank governors of nearly 100 key countries, territories and districts, as well as the European Union, the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank, the Bank of Central African States and the Central Bank of West African States.

Grades are based on an “A+” to “F” scale for success in areas such as inflation control, economic growth goals, currency stability and interest rate management. (“A” represents an excellent performance, down through “F” for outright failure.)

“Central bankers have waged war against inflation over the past few years, wielding their primary weapon: higher interest rates. Now, countries around the world are witnessing the tangible results of these efforts, as inflation has dropped significantly,” said Global Finance founder and editorial director Joseph Giarraputo. “Global Finance’s annual Central Banker Report Cards honor those bank leaders whose strategies outperformed their peers through originality, creativity and tenacity.”

This is the 25th year Global Finance has named the World’s Best Digital Banks. Details on all Round One winners will be published in the September print and digital editions as well as online at GFMag.com.

Round One winners are eligible for consideration in Round Two. Round Two honorees, which include the overall Regional and Global winners, and the Global Sub-category winners, will be revealed for the first time at Global Finance’s 2024 World’s Best Digital Banks Awards Ceremony on October 1 at London’s landmark Banking Hall. A full report on the Round Two winners and the awards ceremony will be published in December.

Winners were chosen from entries evaluated by a world-class panel of judges at Infosys, a global leader in consulting, technology and outsourcing. The editors of Global Finance were responsible for the final selection of all winners.

Only banks that entered the competition were considered for awards, and awards were only given in those categories, regions, countries, territories and districts in which there were entries.

Winning banks were selected based on the following criteria: strength of strategy for attracting and servicing digital customers, success in getting clients to use digital offerings, growth of digital customers, breadth of product offerings, evidence of tangible benefits gained from digital initiatives, and web/mobile site design and functionality. Sub-category winners were selected based on the relative strength and success of those web products and services.
